Job summary

Brown County in Green Bay, WI, seeks staff for the NEW Zoo to perform animal husbandry-related tasks and maintain exhibits. This Limited Term Employment role involves preparing diets, monitoring feed inventories, and assisting with husbandry learning opportunities.

Hours are 1-3 days per week, including weekends. Expected qualifications include biology/zoology knowledge and a valid WI driver’s license; hunter safety certification or ability to obtain within 6 months is required.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of biology, zoology or animal husbandry.
• Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License.
• Hunter Safety/Firearm Safety Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Able to learn husbandry techniques and animal handling.

Responsibilities

• Prepares zoo diets for zoological specimens.
• Inspects and cleans food storage, preparation area and exhibits for safety.
• Maintains records and reports to manager on animal status.
• Performs general maintenance and landscaping tasks.
• Assists in training and directing volunteers.
• Assists in enforcement of park ordinances and public safety.
• Performs related functions as assigned.
