The North Carolina Zoo, part of the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, is seeking a Grounds Supervisor II to lead our Browse and Forage program. You will oversee harvesting, storage, and distribution of browse and forage for the animal collection and supervise staff, interns, and seasonal workers to ensure safety and high quality operations.

You will collaborate closely with Veterinary Services, Clinical Nutrition, Horticulture, and Animal Care to align browse

Formación

• Associate's degree in horticultural or related field with up to three years experience in landscape plans and grounds maintenance.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the Browse and Forage Program, overseeing harvesting, procurement, preservation, storage and distribution of browse and forage.
• Supervise staff, interns, volunteers and seasonal employees with emphasis on safety and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Veterinary Services, Clinical Nutrition, Horticulture and Animal Care to support nutrition and enrichment.
• Coordinate year‑round browse production, gardens, harvesting, preservation and vendor relationships.
• Manage program resources, budgets, equipment, inventories, and supplier contracts.
• Develop SOPs, train staff, and ensure compliance with policies and safety standards.
