Job summary

Zingerman’s Bakehouse is hiring Seasonal Dishwashers to work on our team as we make handcrafted pastries and bread to be enjoyed all over the country.

NO DISHWASHING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! Shifts start as early as 7am and run through 1am, with availability for 40 hours per week in November and December. The role involves standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and keeping the dish area clean as part of a busy professional kitchen. Pay is $16.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a warm environment.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including early mornings and late evenings.

Responsibilities

• Loading our 140 quart mixing bowls into our walk‑in size industrial dish washing machine.
• Running smallwares through a conveyor style industrial dish washing machine.
• Hand washing our coffee cake pans in a 3 compartment sink.
• Monitoring and logging the temperatures of our dish machines.
• Putting away dry dishes.
• Keeping our dish area floor dry.

What does the job pay?

Seasonal positions pay $16.00 per hour.

Where is the job?

Zingerman’s Bakehouse is located at 3711 Plaza Drive in Ann Arbor.

What are the availability requirements?

We are hiring for multiple positions. We have shifts at all times of the day starting as early as 7

am and ending as late as 1 am. As these positions are seasonal, we require availability for 40

hours each week in November and December. We are looking for many full time team

members, but can make some part time schedules work also. Let’s talk and see what works!

What are the physical requirements of the job?

We require the ability to stand, lift and bend for up to 8-hours, with breaks; the ability to lift up to

50 pounds repeatedly, the ability to work in a warm, humid environment and the ability to work

with repetitive motion including fine manipulation of hands and fingers.

What kinds of things do you do in this job?

Seasonal Dishwashers work on our team doing a variety of essential tasks while working with

us. A few examples are:

• Loading our 140 quart mixing bowls into our walk‑in size industrial dish washing machine
• Running smallwares through a conveyor style industrial dish washing machine
• Hand washing our coffee cake pans in a 3 compartment sink
• Monitoring and logging the temperatures of our dish machines
• Putting away dry dishes
• Keeping our dish area floor dry
