Job summary

Weber State University Department of Automotive Technology in Ogden, UT is seeking a student Zero Waste Coordinator to support campus sustainability goals.

As Chair of the Zero Waste Committee, you will organize meetings, lead education efforts at events, and help track waste data.

This 20-hour/week hourly position requires current WSU student with GPA 2.5 or higher; position starting as soon as possible with ongoing when enrolled.

Qualifications

• Must be a current WSU student with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and the Adobe Suite preferred.
• Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse groups.
• Self-motivated, organized, and collaborative problem solver.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of zero waste goals and green purchasing in the Sustainability Plan.
• Chair the Zero Waste Committee, organize meetings, set agendas, and lead committee work.
• Coordinate the Zero Waste Athletics Program and provide recycling education at games.
• Serve as Zero Waste Vice President within the Environmental Ambassadors Club and manage events.
• Assist with data collection and analysis for annual sustainability reporting and STARS.
