Job summary

PIRG is seeking a Campaign Associate in Portland, Oregon to advance our Break the Waste Cycle initiatives and promote a circular economy through outreach and coalition-building.

Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply. You will work with a team of advocates and researchers, gain hands-on experience in campaigns, and contribute to media outreach, events, and volunteer recruitment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Build coalitions across a broad range of organizations and constituency groups.
• Earn traditional media and social media attention by organizing events and writing pieces.
• Organize events and work with volunteers, including webinars, community meetings and public events.
• Research and write reports to inform public debate and policy proposals.
• Recruit new people to the team, including volunteers, interns and staff.
• Run a grassroots campaign office in the summer, meet fundraising goals and manage a team.
