Job summary

eTel seeks an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the integration of Zero Trust Architecture into NIH governance across the OCIO program. You will map governance touchpoints, define ZTA criteria, and align architectures to NIH domains, collaborating with risk, policy, and IT governance bodies.

The role requires 10+ years in enterprise architecture, FEAF/HHS framework knowledge, and NIH suitability readiness. Hybrid work in Bethesda, MD with U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 10+ years of enterprise architecture experience.
• Working knowledge of FEAF and/or the HHS Federated EA Framework.
• Experience with architecture review boards and the CPIC process.
• Ability to obtain NIH suitability determination and PIV credential; fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Map NIH governance touchpoints within 45 days, identifying decision-makers, artifacts, and review cadence.
• Deliver governance recommendations by day 90, including ZTA design authority roles and escalation routes.
• Deliver ZTA criteria and quick-checkpoint requirements recognizable in about 15 minutes.
• Align ZTA reference architectures to NIH EA domains using the HHS Federated EA Framework layers.
• Feed checkpoints into the Process Integration Tracker and run quarterly governance assessments.
