Zero Trust Architect

You will lead the architecture and design of innovative cybersecurity solutions and service offerings to protect information systems and networks for the U.S. Government. Your role will involve coordinating with a dynamic team of experts, investigating new techniques, breaking free from legacy models, and advancing Zero‑Trust (ZT) concepts across IoT, Cloud, Automation & Orchestration, identity and access management, and machine learning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement architecture and design for secure systems that satisfy customer IT needs and future goals.
• Identify and articulate the right mix of tools and techniques to achieve security and mission objectives.
• Investigate emerging technologies and translate them into actionable plans.
• Lead the team through a critical approach to network design, providing alternatives and customizing solutions.
• Own technical expertise in domains such as Zero‑Trust, ZTNA, SSE, SASE, IDP, IDS, DLP, SWG, EDR, MFA, data tagging, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST 800‑207, OMB Mandates, DoD ZT Reference Architecture).
• Author technical documentation, whitepapers, and blogs on leading cybersecurity topics.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with IT operations or cybersecurity.
• 10+ years of experience leading technical solution development for large, complex organizations.
• Experience architecting ZT solutions, roadmaps, and capabilities in alignment with industry standards (NIST 800‑207, OMB Mandates, DoD ZT Reference Architecture).
• Experience leading product selection initiatives.
• Knowledge of the ZT technology ecosystem: ZTNA, SSE, SASE, IDP, IDS, DLP, SWG, EDR, MFA, data tagging, compliance to connection (C2C).
• Knowledge of leading ICAM solutions (MSFT Entra, AD, LDAP) and their role in the ZT ecosystem.
• Knowledge of network technologies (SD‑WAN, MPLS, satellite) and their contribution to delivering a ZT cyber solution.
• Ability to author technical documentation, whitepapers, and blogs on leading cybersecurity topics.
• Secret clearance.
• HS diploma or GED.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a cybersecurity compliance, operations, or engineering leadership role.
• Experience selecting, designing, and implementing security tools for large, complex federal or commercial organizations.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Top Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Information Security Certifications (CEH, CISM, CCSP, CCSK, CISSP, CompTIA Security+).
• DoD 8570 IASAE Level III Certification (CISSP‑ISSAP, CISSP‑ISSEP, CCSP).

Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Compensation

Salary range: $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). Compensation is based on location, education, experience, and contract specifics.
