Job summary

Brevard Public Schools is seeking a Head Wrestling Coach for the Boys program in Melbourne, FL. The ideal candidate will hold the Florida Instructional Certification and Florida Athletic Coaching Certification, with CPR certification, and at least two years of varsity-level coaching experience.

Qualifications

• BA/BS from regionally accredited program/university in FLDOE certificate subject area.
• Florida Instructional Certification (any subject) is required.
• Florida Athletic Coaching Certification – Professional 5 Year or Temporary 3 Year certificate required or eligible for extension.
• Two years of documented sport-specific coaching experience at the secondary level.
• Must have CPR certification from AHA or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Coach boys wrestling at varsity level with extensive knowledge of the sport.
• Demonstrate leadership and manage large groups of student-athletes.
• Coordinate practices, competitions, and team events.
• Ensure compliance with Florida Dept. of Education coaching requirements.

Extensive knowledge of the sport at the competition level. Demonstrated leadership skills and the management of large groups of students/athletes Substitutions: College level coaching may substitute for High School coaching experience Notes: * Temporary Athletic Coaching Certificates are not renewable by the State of Florida. To obtain a five year (Professional) Athletic Coaching Certificate issued by the State of Florida Dept of Education, you will be required to Complete Sports Specific, Sports Medicine, and Sports Theory and receive a valid CPR card from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
