Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated in Missouri is seeking a warehouse supervisor to lead a team and ensure efficient shipping, receiving, storage and distribution processes. You will oversee schedules, enforce policies, train staff and drive safety and productivity across the operation.

The role involves supervising up to 10 employees, maintaining inventory controls for multi-million dollar stock, and coordinating inbound/outbound activities with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 4–6 years of relevant experience, or 1–3 years supervisory experience.
• Understanding of safe receiving, storing, requisitions, shipping and delivery.
• Basic knowledge of inventory procedures and controls.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

• Supervises general warehouse operations and employees.
• Schedules inbound and outbound arrivals and ensures on-time execution.
• Maintains dock presence, inspects work in progress and enforces policies.
• Maximizes productivity through training and supervision of staff.
• Hires, trains, coaches and conducts evaluations for warehouse personnel.
• Maintains safety, security and cleanliness throughout the facility.
• Oversees unloading/loading, minor repairs, and overall workflow.
• Manages inventory with awareness of over $2.5M in stock.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for leading, motivating, training and supporting the activities of a company warehouse through a team of warehouse personnel. This person will ensure that shipping, receiving, storage and distribution are performed in an efficient manner and that all necessary precautions are taken to protect warehouse contents against loss.

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned)

• Supervises general warehouse operations and employees.
• Responsible for scheduling of inbound and outbound arrivals.
• Maintains a constant dock presence inspecting work in progress.
• Applies and enforces all policy and procedures.
• Maximizes productivity of personnel by proper training and supervision.
• Hires, trains, coaches and performs official evaluations for warehouse personnel.
• Maintains safety, security, and cleanliness throughout the facility and property.
• Unloading, Loading, Deluxing and minor furniture repairs as needed
• Performs every duty in the warehouse as needed to ensure objectives and goals are met.

SCOPE & IMPACT

Ability to manage over $2.5M in inventory. Ability to use production tools to measure employee productivity

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or GED with 4-6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent 1-3 years of supervisory / leadership experience.
• An understanding of the proper methods and procedures used in safe receiving, storing, requisitions, shipping and delivery.
• Basic knowledge of inventory procedures.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Up to 5% Travel.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
• Furniture Repair and Home Delivery

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Up to 3 - 10 reports.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Nearly continuously stand, balance, reach overhead, pull, push, and lift up to 50 lbs. Often repetitive hand motion, walking, bending, stooping, listening, talking, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, and operate industry equipment.
