Job summary

Brevard Public Schools ACCESS Project, Melbourne, FL, seeks a full-time 9th grade assistant football coach. The ideal candidate holds a Florida Instructional Certification and a relevant coaching credential, with at least two years of varsity coaching experience.

The role requires leadership in managing large groups of student-athletes, adherence to district policies, and CPR certification. On-site coaching position with regular season commitments.

Qualifications

• BA/BS from regionally accredited program in FLDOE subject area, certification required.
• Florida Instructional Certification (any subject) required.
• Five-year Professional or Temporary 3-Year Athletic Coaching Certificate issued by Florida DOE, or eligible upon offer extension.
• Two years varsity/secondary coaching experience and ability to lead large groups of student-athletes.
• Temporary certificates notes: TEMP certs are not renewable by the State of Florida.

Responsibilities

• Coaching duties for varsity and other age groups as assigned.
• Demonstrate leadership and manage large groups of student-athletes.
• Maintain CPR certification from AHA or American Red Cross.

Extensive knowledge of the sport at the competition level. Demonstrated leadership skills and the management of large groups of students/athletes Substitutions: College level coaching may substitute for High School coaching experience Notes: * Temporary Athletic Coaching Certificates are not renewable by the State of Florida. To obtain a five year (Professional) Athletic Coaching Certificate issued by the State of Florida Dept of Education, you will be required to Complete Sports Specific, Sports Medicine, and Sports Theory and receive a valid CPR card from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
