Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to work with children in a group setting.

• Pass Paraeducator exam or have 48 college credits.
• Experience with children in a group setting is preferred.
• Must lift, push or pull 40 pounds and bend/reach as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance for the special education classroom teacher in highly structured and general education settings.
• Assist the teacher in carrying out specially designed instructional programs for individual students.
• Comply with all Federal and State IDEA guidelines.
• Assist in classroom assessments, IEP data collection, grading, and material creation.
• Attend required professional development and meetings for this position.
• Maintain classroom management and academics in the teacher's absence.
• Assist students with technology used in the classroom and school settings.
• Perform medically related services for students receiving nursing services.
• Other duties assigned by administrators and supervising teachers.
