NYS Office of Children and Family Services seeks a Youth Care/Support role to maintain security and monitoring across a facility. The position involves vehicle and visitor screening, camera surveillance, and movement oversight, with mandatory restraint-technique training twice a year.
Qualifications include one year of full-time youth care experience or a high school diploma, with related direct-care experience strongly preferred. Background checks are required as part of the applicant process.
Maintain facility security.
Key control.
Perimeter inspections.
Vehicle and visitor checks for contraband.
Camera surveillance of facility.
Monitor movement throughout the facility.
Youth Support Assistants are required to attend training in approved Office of Children and Family Services restraint techniques two times a year (four hours each).
Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview
One year of full-time experience in the care and programming of youth* from ages 6-21; OR
Possession of a high school or equivalency diploma.
Appropriate verifiable part-time experience will be accepted on a prorated basis.
