City and County of Denver's Parks and Recreation Department is seeking Youth Sports Scorekeepers to support winter games at on-site recreation centers across Denver. You will help set up equipment, record scores, manage rosters, and enforce safety and sportsmanship while ensuring participants have a fun experience.

Ideal candidates are at least 14 years old, with CPR and First Aid certification within six months of hire and reliable transportation.

What We Offer

This is an on-call position, which means it is a part-time, hourly role. This position will work no more than 39 hours per week. The pay rate for this position $19.29/hour and is eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denver's 457b retirement plan. This position is not eligible for other additional benefits. On‑call positions may have routine or variable work schedules.

Location

In this position you can expect to work on site at recreation centers and/or field sites throughout Denver.

What You'll Do

The City and County of Denver's Department of Parks and Recreation offers Youth Sports programming for kids ages 3 - 17 years. Our team of devoted Coaches enrich the lives of youth through engagement of sports, learning the fundamentals of numerous sports including baseball, basketball, coach pitch, T-ball, softball, flag football, gymnastics, tumbling, cheerleading, volleyball, soccer, and track and field. Below is a breakdown of our sports by season:

• Winter: Basketball
• Spring: Flag Football, Soccer, Volleyball
• Summer: Baseball/Softball, T-Ball/Coach Pitch, Track and Field
• Fall: Flag Football, Soccer, Volleyball
• Year-Round: Tennis, Gymnastics, Cheerleading, Sports Camps

The winter season is just around the corner, and we are looking for enthusiastic staff to join our team! Our team of Scorekeepers will support Site Supervisors in the operation of youth sports games.

As a Youth Sports Scorekeeper (Recreation Assistant), you will:

• Set up and break down league site equipment.
• Perform scorekeeping and report scores to Site Supervisors following the completion of games.
• Manage game rosters.
• Ensure good sportsmanship, participant safety, and enforce program rules.
• Have fun and ensure a fun experience for participants.

The Youth Sports winter season runs from December to March. We are looking for staff who can commit to the full duration of their respective season.
