Job summary
Foothills Area YMCA in Seneca, SC is offering a Sports Management Internship & Practicum designed for students pursuing sport management, recreation, coaching and facility operations. As an intern you will assist with coaching youth sports, league planning, game operations, facility upkeep and program development, gaining hands-on experience and professional growth under the Sports Director.
This part-time internship (10-15 hours weekly) provides practical learning, mentorship and opportunities
Qualifications
- Gain practical, hands-on experience in a professional YMCA environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with coaching youth sports programs
- Support coaches during practices and games
- Help with player development and age-appropriate activities
- Assist with team formation and roster management
- Assist with scheduling practices and games
- Prepare fields, courts, equipment, and program areas
- Assist with game-day operations and logistics
- Shadow the Sports Director and Sports Coordinator
- Assist with developing new sports programs and offerings
- Help promote YMCA sports programs and registration opportunities
