Job summary

A leading youth sports program is seeking energetic individuals to teach soccer classes to children aged 1-5 in Oakdale. The ideal candidates will have a passion for sports and experience working with young children. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to local schools.

About Us

Soccer Stars is the leading youth sports program for children ages 12 months to 13 years in Long Island and Eastern Queens. Our acclaimed program provides an energetic, enjoyable, and age‑suitable introduction to the fantastic game of soccer by offering classes, camps, and clinics held in schools, community centers, and local parks. We take pride in our creative curriculum, which focuses not only on soccer skills but also on fostering social skills and character development, creating a positive and lasting impact on every child we coach. We also offer multisport programs as well as non‑contact martial arts programs.

Schedule

The majority of classes are held during the preschool, after‑school hours and on weekends. The ideal candidate would have availability on the days and times listed below. Candidates must have consistent availability for the classes they are hired for. Candidates with flexible or open availability are preferred.

• Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays: 9am‑12pm
• Sundays: 9:00am‑2:00pm

Responsibilities

• Show up on time for every class to set themselves up for success
• Use individual attention to ensure every child has success
• Use a non‑competitive approach to ensure classes are fun with a stress‑free environment
• Use positive reinforcement to encourage children to do better and celebrate success
• Have a blast; be open‑minded, accept coaching as a continuous journey, be open to feedback, and strive to improve through regular trainings and by following the coaching manual

Requirements

• Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to local schools with reliable transportation – the more you can travel, the more work you’ll have. We have locations all across Long Island.
• Passion for sports/fitness and working with young children, especially those ages 1‑5
• Background in fitness is a plus (athletics, sports, dance, cheer, gymnastics, martial arts, exercise science, kinesiology, physical education, etc.)
• Background working with children is a plus (camp counselor, elementary education substitute teacher, coach, etc.)
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to pass a background check
