Impact Kids in Menifee, CA is seeking a Youth Sports Coach to supervise and coach students aged 4 to 14 across soccer, basketball, volleyball, and running. A fingerprint Live Scan, child abuse clearance, mandated reporter training, and CPR/First Aid are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with children, such as tutoring, camp counseling, or youth programs.
  • Youth sports coaching or PE instruction experience (1–5 years) required; coaching more than one sport preferred.
  • DOT: fingerprint Live Scan, child abuse clearance, mandated reporter training, and CPR/First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily instruction/coaching in soccer, basketball, volleyball, and running across ages 4–14.
  • Observe, assess and give students constructive feedback on progress.
  • Adapt drills and equipment to different age groups to ensure participation for all.
  • Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, physical fitness, and confidence in every session.
  • Transition between sports and programs as scheduled; maintain group management.
  • Supervise groups with attention to behavior, safety, and development.
  • Prepare daily plans in a fun and creative way.
  • Use classroom management to create inclusive, engaging sessions.
  • Collaborate with fellow Activity Specialists and model positive behavior.
  • Follow Impact Kids Code of Conduct and uphold company policies; have fun.

About Us:

Impact Kids has been providing safe, fun, and meaningful enrichment programs for over 10 years, and today we serve students at public and private schools across the country. Students have a safe space to develop, learn, play, and most importantly, just be kids in our before, during, and after school programs!

Who We Are Looking For:

Looking for experienced, versatile individuals for teaching and instruction of a variety of youth sports, including soccer, basketball, volleyball, and cross country/running. Candidate must possess a high energy, positive approach with a genuine desire to impact young children’s lives through sports. The ideal candidate would be an athlete with considerable skill in at least one sport, a solid working knowledge of the fundamentals of several others, and a passion for coaching.

Physical education teachers, PE/kinesiology students, and former high school or college athletes are encouraged to apply.

This individual must provide constructive feedback, implement company curriculum, and be a team player. Also demonstrate outstanding communication skills with children and their parents, which include the ability to use clear, concise, and grammatically correct written and oral language in all aspects of professional interaction with students, their families, peers, the leadership team and the larger community.

A fingerprint-based criminal background check (Live Scan), child abuse clearance, mandated reporter training, and current CPR/First Aid certification are required.

Experience Requirements:

A minimum of 2 years of previous experience working with children; examples include but are not limited to: academic/athletic tutoring, camp counselor, and youth volunteer. Youth sports coaching or physical education instruction experience (1-5 years minimum) required. Experience coaching more than one sport preferred.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

The Youth Sports Coach is responsible for the supervision of students, giving sport-specific coaching and instruction across multiple programs, providing a safe and fun learning environment, and serving as a positive role model for students.

  • Provide daily instruction/coaching in soccer, basketball, volleyball, and running/cross country (and other sports as assigned) to students between the ages of 4 and 14 with different ability levels.
  • Demonstrate the skills and tactics of each sport, explaining the principles behind them, observe and assess student performance, and give students feedback on their progress.
  • Adapt drills, games, and equipment to each age group and ability level so every student can participate and succeed.
  • Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, physical fitness, and confidence in every session.
  • Transition smoothly between sports, schools, and program schedules as assigned.
  • Group supervision of students with attention to: behavior and group management, health and safety, security, and personal and skill development.
  • Ensure the safety of students and team members.
  • Organize and prepare daily plans in a fun and creative manner.
  • Use effective classroom management skills to lead the activity and effectively create a fun environment where everyone feels included.
  • Work effectively with fellow Activity Specialists and collaborate on daily responsibilities. Serve as a positive role model to students.
  • Follow the Impact Kids Code of Conduct and maintain the Impact Kids look at all times.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Be willing to travel between schools and program sites. Work takes place in indoor gyms and on outdoor fields in varied weather conditions. Ability to demonstrate skills across multiple sports. Ability to respond to emergency situations that may require running and climbing stairs. Good physical condition which enables candidate to execute all responsibilities associated with this position.
