Job summary

Soccer Shots Portland is looking for energetic trainers to deliver our curriculum to Pre-K and elementary players across the Portland Metro area. You will lead safe, engaging sessions, mentor apprentices, and collaborate with families and teachers to support kids’ soccer and character development.

We provide paid training, ongoing coaching development, and opportunities to advance within the company. If you love working with children and sports, this is a fun, rewarding role in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Must have sports/coaching/teaching experience.
• Training, mentoring or leadership experience required.
• Genuine passion for children and sports.
• Energetic, engaging, responsible and safety conscious.
• Ability to adapt to kids ages 2-8.
• Driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass state-required background checks.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Soccer Shots curriculum and early childhood techniques in every session.
• Foster a safe and inclusive environment and follow on-site safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and teachers.
• Coach classes with an apprentice, providing on-field mentoring.
• Deliver high-quality classes with strong evaluation scores.
• Attend seasonal trainings and events; mentor new coaches.
• Act as role model and on-field mentor to apprentices.
• Maintain professional written/verbal communication with the team.
