About the Role

The Youth Soccer Coach supports Asphalt Green's youth soccer programming by delivering high-quality, engaging soccer instruction to young participants.

In this role, you will lead soccer sessions using Asphalt Green's curriculum and lesson plans while creating a positive environment for youth development through sports. This position is a good fit for someone who is knowledgeable about soccer, enjoys working with young people, and is excited to share their skills and passion for the game.

What You'll Do

Soccer Instruction and Program Support

• Deliver high-quality, engaging soccer sessions using Asphalt Green's curriculum and lesson plans.
• Teach soccer skills, fundamentals, drills, and game concepts in an age-appropriate and kid-friendly way.
• Support youth soccer programming at designated program locations in the West Bronx, Harlem, and Upper East Side.
• Adapt instruction as needed to keep participants engaged, active, safe, and supported.
• Help create a structured, positive, and inclusive environment for young players.

Participant Experience

• Create a positive experience for young participants through professionalism, positivity, and strong youth engagement.
• Share soccer knowledge and passion in a way that helps children build confidence, teamwork, and enjoyment of the game.
• Encourage sportsmanship, effort, respect, and participation.
• Support youth development through sports by helping participants feel welcomed, motivated, and included.

Team and Department Support

• Participate in mandatory pre-season training as required.
• Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled programs and trainings.
• Communicate clearly with program leadership, coaches, staff, and site partners.
• Follow Asphalt Green's program expectations, safety guidelines, curriculum, and lesson plans.
• Represent Asphalt Green professionally at all program sites.

Who You'll Work With

The Youth Soccer Coach works closely with Community Programs leadership, soccer program leadership, other coaches, instructors, youth participants, families, school partners, community partners, and Asphalt Green staff.

This role may support programming across the West Bronx, Harlem, and Upper East Side.
