Bill Wilson Center, located in San Jose, CA, seeks a Residential Counselor to ensure youth safety and engagement while following shelter guidelines. The role focuses on clear communication with the support team and proper documentation of client progress.

The position requires on-site work, a willingness to stay shifted on duty, and experience with housing instability or related services. Bilingual English/Spanish is highly desired and a strong commitment to serving diverse youth is valued.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is desired.
• One to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent.
• Experience working with culturally diverse youth required.

Responsibilities

• Remain on site for the assigned shift to supervise and care for youth.
• Serve as a positive role model for youth and families.
• Balance excellent client care with deadlines and positive outcomes.
• Have basic knowledge of crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies.
• Complete and submit shift reports daily.
• Document in HMIS/AWARDS and write thorough shift summaries.
