Summit Free Public Library seeks a Youth Services Librarian for the Summit location. The role involves staff at the Youth Services desk, providing reference and readers’ advisory services, maintaining and expanding youth collections, and delivering age-appropriate programs.
Ideal candidates hold an MLS and NJ librarian certification, enjoy working with children and teens, and have basic computer skills. The position may require varied schedules to include weekends.

HOURLY RATE: $36.55
13 hours per week; Since the Library is open days and evenings, schedules may vary; including Saturday and Sunday rotation
Seeking an enthusiastic, outgoing, and creative librarian to serve at the Youth Services Public Service Desk, provide reference and readers’ advisory services to patrons, maintain collections, and implement age appropriate programs as needed in a very busy
Youth Services department.
Experience working with a variety of age groups, from babies and their
caregivers to teenagers; working knowledge of Canva a plus; bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
ALA accredited Masters of Library Service and NJ Professional Librarian’s Certificate. Must enjoy and be comfortable working with children and young adults. Computer knowledge required.
