Sugar Grove Public Library District is seeking a creative and reliable Youth Services Assistant to join our highly collaborative team. This role reports to the Youth Services Manager and focuses on delivering storytime and early childhood programming, with occasional school-age programs as needed.
The position includes Sunday rotations and weekday morning shifts. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, customer service experience, and a passion for children’s literature.

The Sugar Grove Public Library District serves 16,114 residents including the Village of Sugar Grove, Sugar Grove Township, and some residents in Montgomery, Aurora, North Aurora, and Elburn. We are located 50 miles west of Chicago, minutes from I-88. Our facility is 26,000 square feet and was built in 2009. The Library is a member of the SWAN consortium and shares resources with 100 other member libraries. The Library is open 63 hours a week: Monday – Thursday: 9am- 8pm, Friday: 9am-6pm, Saturday 10am – 4pm, Sunday 2pm-6pm. Library district voters approved increased operational funding for the budget year beginning July 2024, and we are looking for staff to grow with us.
