Job summary

Bay Area Youth Services Inc. is seeking a Youth Screening Specialist - PRN (Finance).

The role focuses on screening youth brought in by law enforcement to determine detention status and assess mental health or substance abuse risk factors, with recommendations for services or court handling. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, two years of youth experience, and a valid Florida driver's license with auto insurance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two (2) years of experience working with youth.
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver's license and Auto Insurance.

Responsibilities

• Reviews law enforcement paperwork and criminal history records.
• Acts as a resource to families, outside agencies and staff; answers telephones.
• Maintains accurate records, to include youth files, screening packets, and JJIS documentation.
• Communicates with youth's parents/guardians, DJJ and/or DCF staff, and law enforcement to ensure efficient processing.
• Attends court hearings as needed to present findings of detention risk assessment.
• Provides crisis intervention to de-escalate immediate conflict situations as needed.
