Job summary

NFI North, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Residential Counselor to join our Group Home in Burlington, VT. This role provides direct 24/7 supervision and supports adolescents aged 13–18 in a structured, therapeutic environment.

You will implement treatment plans with clinical staff, facilitate daily routines and life skills, document progress, respond to crises, and maintain a safe setting. A bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field is preferred, with experience in behavioral health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or related field (preferred)
• Experience working with adolescents, especially in behavioral health or residential settings
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Valid driver’s license (if transportation of clients is required)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct 24/7 supervision and support to residents.
• Implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clinical staff
• Facilitate daily routines, life skills development, and therapeutic activities
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment
• Model appropriate behavior and communication skills
• Document client progress and maintain accurate records
• Respond to crisis situations using approved intervention techniques

Education

Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field
