Job summary

Comprehensive Healthcare is seeking a Youth Recovery Coordinator to support teens and young adults in accessing treatment for substance use and co-occurring disorders in Walla Walla and nearby counties. You will collaborate with clients to develop treatment plans, coordinate services, lead groups, and help build natural supports within the community.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in social work or psychology, experience with youth, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field.
  • Prior experience working with youth and young adults preferred.
  • Must be eligible for registration as Agency Affiliated Counselor.
  • Must have valid driver's license, vehicle liability insurance, and a safe driving record for the past three years.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with each client to develop a treatment plan based on the client’s needs and goals.
  • Coordinate services to ensure clients have access to appropriate community resources to support their recovery.
  • Facilitate educational and skill-building groups to assist clients with developing positive activities and motivation.
  • Encourage clients to develop natural supports by building social skills and engaging with their community.
  • Identify and collaborate with referral sources to facilitate an efficient pathway for youth to access treatment.
  • Assess clients for safety and risk to self or others and take crisis intervention steps when indicated.

We take pride in our creative and collaborative work environment and in delivering clinically excellent, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented services.What are we looking for in a Youth Recovery Coordinator?The Youth Recovery Coordinator supports teens or young adults and their families with accessing and engaging with treatment for substance use disorders or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. As part of our Youth & Family TREE grant (Enhancement & Expansion of Treatment and Recovery Services for Adolescents, Transitional Aged Youth, and their Families), our program focuses on improving and expanding early intervention, comprehensive treatment, and recovery support services for young people aged 12-25 years old and their families in Walla Walla, Benton, and Franklin Counties. The Youth Recovery Coordinator collaborates with each client to determine which services within the program meet the client’s needs and desired outcomes, and then helps to coordinate various treatment services and community resources. When possible, the Youth Recovery Coordinator also engages each client’s immediate family to strengthen the available supports to that youth, and to provide referrals for family members who may also benefit from behavioral health treatment. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse groups of people in order to navigate family dynamics are necessary skills for this position.
