Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County invites applications for a part-time Youth Development Professional in our Club Operations team. You will plan, supervise, and evaluate youth activities, mentoring members and promoting leadership, academics, and healthy living.

The role requires a high school diploma, two years of related experience, CPR/First Aid preferred, and a State driver’s license. You will work in a busy club setting with daily setup/cleanup and regular staff meetings.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience.
• CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
• Valid State Driver’s License.
• Experience with children and knowledge of youth development.
• Ability to plan and implement engaging activities for youth and supervise members.
• Strong organization, time management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
• Ensure engagement, promote and stimulate participation, and consistent attendance of youth enrolled in activities.
• Establish rapport with youth and provide mentoring, guidance, role modeling to members and leadership development.
• Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities.
• Monitor and evaluate programs to ensure safety and quality at all times.
• Engage members in activities and provide a safe environment.
• Support members' emotional and social development and positive self-concepts.
• Plan and facilitate purposeful activities and group projects.
• Submit regular lesson plans and attendance sheets; perform admin duties.
• Participate in staff development and meetings.
• Maintain daily contact with Club staff, members, and supervisor.
• Mandatory cleaning setup and daily close-down of the program area.
