Job summary

Big Sky Community Organization seeks Youth Program Instructors to lead BASEcamp After School activities for kids in Big Sky. As a YPI, you will keep children safe, foster engagement, and contribute your own activity ideas within a structured program.

Youll set up and facilitate groups Mon-Thu 3:00-6:00 pm, with BASE Nights Out on a Friday once a month, collaborating with staff, parents, and peers to create fun, educational experiences and nurture growth.

Qualifications

  • CPR, First Aid and AED certification or willingness to obtain certifications.
  • Ability to pass background check.
  • Preferred: prior experience in after-school or childcare;
  • Experience with children is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, facilitate, and participate in group activities in a safe, fun, educational manner.
  • Manage student behavior appropriately and seek support when needed.
  • Become part of the BASE community, building relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Supervise a group of participants, ensuring safety and accountability.
  • Respond to participant, parent, and staff needs promptly.
  • Help prepare, clean, and maintain Youth Programming spaces daily.
  • Communicate with staff including YPIs and the Youth Programs Manager throughout the day.

Job description

Youth Program Instructors (YPIs) are a critical part of our Youth Programming. YPIs work within the structure of our BASEcamp After School program to make each day a fun, safe, and unique experience for children in the Big Sky community, all while incorporating your own flair and activity ideas. YPIs are the primary caregiver for each student and are responsible for maintaining students’ safety, encouraging their participation in activities and within the group, and for helping them learn and grow throughout the week or school year

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, facilitate, and participate in group activities in a safe, fun, and educational manner.
  • Manage student behavior effectively and appropriately and seek support when needed.
  • Become a part of our BASE community, developing relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Supervise a group of participants, ensuring that all participants are accounted for and safe at all times.
  • Be attentive to and respond to participant, parent, and staff needs.
  • Help prepare, clean, and maintain Youth Programming spaces daily.
  • Communicate with all staff, including other YPIs and Youth Programs Manager throughout the day.

After School program runs Mon-Thurs 3:00- 6:00pm; BASE Night's Out one Friday every month from 6:00-9:00pm

Qualifications

Required
