Job summary

Arc Experience in Southern California is seeking a Program Leader to guide after-school activities for our youth. You will lead homework help, enrichment activities, and clubs, while ensuring a fun, safe environment that fosters social-emotional growth.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in after-school programs, strong communication with kids and families, and willingness to pass TB/Live Scan checks; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. This is a part-time, non-exempt role.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in after-school programs or youth recreation.
• Able to communicate effectively with kids and parents.
• TB test and Live Scan background clearance required.
• Covid-19 vaccination documentation if required by the school.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome students after school.
• Organize and lead activities: homework help, games, arts and crafts, enrichment projects.
• Lead indoor and outdoor enrichment activities.
• Create clubs (e.g., career readiness, cooking, anime, dance).
• Maintain a safe environment by following safety protocols and supervising groups.
• Oversee safety and well-being during after-school activities.
• Encourage participation and adapt activities to diverse needs.

Arc - A Day in the Life - YouTubeWhat a typical day for a Program Leader is like:Greet and welcome kids to the program at the end of their school day.Organize and lead activities, including homework help, recreation games, arts and crafts, and educational projects.Join in indoor and outdoor enrichment activities.Create unique clubs for students. For example, we have a variety of clubs at our schools, including career readiness, cooking, anime, and dance!Maintain a secure environment by following safety protocols, monitoring student behavior, and managing group dynamics.Oversee the safety and well-being of students during after-school activities.Encourage participation and enthusiasm while adapting activities to meet students' diverse needs and interests.#LA2To qualify for this position, you will need:At least one year of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities.To be a good communicator and be able to talk to both kids and parents comfortably.College transcripts that show you have 48+ college credit units completed OR take and pass an academic proficiency exam.To get a TB test (and provide proof that it is negative) and pass a Live Scan background check.If you are an English-Spanish bilingual speaker, your resume will stand out!If the school you will be working at requires a Covid-19 vaccination, then you must provide documentation that shows you are fully Covid-19 vaccinated.The Program Leader position is part-time, non-exempt.
