Job summary

City of Thornton, Colorado is seeking Youth Program Leader I/II to assist with supervision of participants and provide age-appropriate activities in licensed or non-licensed youth programs.

Positions are flexibly staffed and advance from Youth Program Leader I; emphasis on safety, outreach to youth and families, and strong customer service. CPR/First Aid within 30 days, background checks may be required.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of City of Thornton policies and child care principles.
  • Ability to supervise participants and coordinate activities.
  • Good communication with parents and risk management.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with supervision of participants.
  • Assist with providing age-appropriate activities.
  • Set up and tear down activities.
  • Enforce safety standards and regulations; respond to emergencies.
  • Provide outreach to youth and teens in the community.
  • Develop and build relationships with youth and families.
  • Provide excellent customer service to parents; address questions.
