Job summary

Rocky Mountain Equality seeks a Youth Program Coordinator to develop and lead affirming events and programs for LGBTQ+ youth ages 12-18 across Larimer and Weld Counties. You will help run weekly youth groups, partner with schools, and support internships and community events from the Northern Colorado region.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to Youth Internship Programs, workshops, mentorship, community projects, and leadership projects with youth staff.
• Plan and implement Northern Colorado youth events, community gatherings, outreach opportunities, and annual celebrations (Night of Noise, Spring Fling Kiki Ball, Lavender Graduation, Youth Pride).
• Lead weekly LGBTQ+ youth groups for ages 12-18 (initially in Greeley and Loveland) including field trips and activities.
• Assist with volunteer recruitment and coordination with youth and volunteer teams.
• Build relationships with teachers, administrators, and local community leaders.
• Provide LGBTQ+ educational resources, presentations, and outreach to schools and community organizations.
• Ensure programming is accessible and culturally responsive to BIPOC and Trans participants.
• Collaborate to evaluate programs, collect data, and implement improvements.
• Represent Rocky Mountain Equality at school fairs, trainings, and events.
• Maintain attendance and records and assist with grant reporting.
• Other duties to support mission and events.

Office Location: Northern Colorado (Larimer and Weld Counties) with a home base out of our Ft. Collins office

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm, with nights and weekends as needed

Position Summary

The Youth Program Coordinator is a key member of Rocky Mountain Equality's Youth Program Team. The position will focus on developing and leading affirming events, activities, programs, and services for LGBTQ+ youth ages 12-18 throughout Larimer and Weld Counties. Through facilitating weekly youth groups, building relationships with community partners, facilitating youth internships, and supporting community events and programming, the Coordinator will serve as a key connection between Rocky Mountain Equality, youth, educators, families, and community partners throughout Northern Colorado.

This role demands thoughtful engagement, driven initiative, leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent responsibilities effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to Youth Internship Programs, workshops, mentorship, community projects, and leadership projects in collaboration with other youth program staff.
• Plan and implement Northern Colorado youth events, community gatherings, outreach opportunities, and annual celebrations including Night of Noise, Spring Fling Kiki Ball, Lavender Graduation, Youth Pride, and other seasonal events.
• Lead, plan and facilitate weekly recurring LGBTQ+ youth groups sessions for ages 12-18 (initially in Greeley and Loveland) including field trips, community building activities, discussions, and events.
• Assist with volunteer recruitment and coordination in collaboration with the youth and volunteer teams.
• Establish and build relationships with community partners including with teachers, administrators, and local community leaders
• Provide LGBTQ+ educational resources, presentations, and outreach to community organizations,students, educators, counselors, and school staff as requested and appropriate.
• Ensure all programming is affirming, accessible, and culturally responsive to BIPOC and Trans participants as well as the entire LGBTQ+ community.
• Collaborate with the youth team to evaluate all programming, collect data, and continuously make improvements based on participant feedback.
• Represent Rocky Mountain Equality at school resource fairs, trainings, and community events.
• Maintain attendance, program records, and coordinate participant communication and other administrative tasks, including assisting with grant reporting.
• Other duties as needed and assigned to advance the mission and impact of Rocky Mountain Equality,including assisting with programming in other parts of our service area and supporting organizational activities and events.

Qualifications

• Experience working with middle school and high school youth; experience with LGBTQ+ youth strongly preferred.
• Experience facilitating youth groups, workshops, or community programming.
• Experience building partnerships with schools, educators, or community organizations.
• Strong facilitation, presentation, and public speaking skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity and an understanding of systems impacting LGBTQ+ youth and their families.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining strong communication and collaboration.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and successful completion of a background check required.
• Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish) with experience working with nonenglish speaking communities. Compensation may be adjusted to reflect verified bilingual proficiency.
• Based primarily in Larimer and Weld Counties with the option of one remote day a week. Employees are eligible for one remote workday per week, subject to program and organizational needs.
• Requires reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout Northern Colorado for youth groups, school visits, meetings, and community events. Travel to Rocky Mountain Equality's Boulder office on a weekly basis.
• This position is expected to maintain a 40-hour work week Monday through Friday, with evenings and weekends required to support youth programming and community events.
• Schedules may flex to accommodate evening or weekend programming, however hours will not exceed 40 hours within a given work week without prior supervisor approval.
• This position may occasionally require medium to light physical work that involves lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
