Job summary

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a Playcenter Attendant at the J.M. Tull Gwinnett Family YMCA in Lawrenceville to care for children aged three months to twelve years and lead engaging activities in a safe, welcoming environment.

Under the Youth Development Director, you will uphold safety protocols, support daily operations, complete check-in/out records, and communicate with parents while modeling the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age and have experience working with youth in a structured setting.
• CPR certification within the first 30 days of employment is required.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Ability to supervise and interact with children in a professional and caring way.

Responsibilities

• Take steps to build committed and connected relationships with members, volunteers, and partners.
• Maintain privacy by not sharing personal information about members.
• Adhere to policies and procedures in the training manual.
• Communicate positively with members, guests, program participants and volunteers.
• Provide appropriate assistance as needed.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of play center, including sanitizing toys daily.
• Assist in maintaining accurate child check-in/check-out records.
• Report maintenance and equipment needs to leadership as required.
