Trinity Baptist Church Youth Pastor
Position Summary

The Youth Pastor is responsible for leading, discipling, and shepherding middle and high school students in alignment with the mission and strategy of Trinity Baptist Church and the Southern Baptist Convention. This role focuses on helping students grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, equipping them to live out their faith, and partnering with families to support spiritual development.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Spiritual Leadership & Discipleship
    • Teach biblically sound lessons rooted in Scripture and consistent with Baptist doctrine
    • Develop and lead weekly youth services, Bible studies, and small groups
    • Disciple students through mentoring, counseling, and personal relationships
    • Encourage students in evangelism and personal spiritual disciplines
  2. Program Development
    • Plan and oversee all youth ministry activities (weekly gatherings, retreats, camps, missions)
    • Create engaging, Christ-centered environments that attract and retain students
    • Coordinate special events such as camps, conferences, and outreach nights
  3. Family & Church Partnership
    • Communicate regularly with parents about student ministry activities and spiritual growth
    • Support and equip parents as the primary spiritual leaders of their children
    • Collaborate with the senior pastor, staff, and volunteers to align ministry goals
  4. Volunteer Leadership
    • Recruit, train, and support adult volunteers and small group leaders
    • Provide ongoing leadership development and spiritual encouragement for team members
  5. Outreach & Evangelism
    • Develop strategies to reach unchurched students in the community
    • Encourage youth participation in local and global mission opportunities
    • Build relationships with local schools and community organizations
Additional Responsibilities
  • Attend staff and business meetings
  • Be a point of contact and support to church body for their specific needs
  • Participate in other general pastoral duties as needed (weddings, funerals, counseling, care ministry, speaking on the main stage, etc.)
  • Be involved and invested in the life of the church
Qualifications

  • Called to student ministry with a heart for youth discipleship
  • Strong knowledge of Scripture and ability to teach effectively
  • Excellent relational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or two or more years of staff leadership in a growing student ministry
