Job summary

Clatsop Behavioral Healthcare seeks a Youth Partner to provide in-home and community-based peer services for youth enrolled in Intensive In-Home Behavioral Health Treatment (IIBHT) or Wraparound services. You will work with families and a treatment team to implement plan-driven, evidence-based supports.

The role requires creating safety plans, coordinating with clinicians, and delivering 2–4 hours weekly per youth with potential monthly Wraparound sessions.

Qualifications

• QMHA certification required or ability to register within 30 days of hire.
• PSS certification through Oregon Health Authority.
• Lived experience in behavioral health and willingness to share experiences to support treatment goals.
• Strong communication, teamwork and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home/community-based peer services for youth in IIBHT or Wraparound.
• Assist in risk assessment and safety planning with treatment team.
• Document and coordinate clinical care and utilization review as required.
• Participate in team scheduling to ensure 2–4 hours of services per week per youth.
• Travel to homes, schools and partner agencies as needed.

Clatsop Behavioral Healthcare (CBH) has moved most positions to a 4 day 9 hour work week with paid 30 minute lunches to promote a better work life balance. Wages have also been increased for our valued current and future employees.Clatsop Behavioral Healthcare has an immediate opening for a full time Youth Partner. The primary purpose of this position is to provide in-home and/or community-based peer services for an assigned caseload of youth enrolled in Intensive In-Home Behavioral Health Treatment (IIBHT) or Wraparound services, working closely with the family’s clinicians.Youth eligible for IIBHT or Wraparound services experience multiple behavioral health diagnoses & struggles across domains of functioning, significant safety concerns, may be at risk of out-of-home placement, or transitioning home from an out-of-home placement. The peer support specialist provides brief, solution-focused interventions, peer support services & skills training to youth in the program, as guided by the treatment plan & individual needs of each youth. Individuals applying for this role will receive comprehensive training and it is not assumed that they would have had experience providing these services.Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Client careMeet with a youth & family, as determined by applicable OARs & the treatment team.With the other members of the treatment team, participate in assessing risk & completing safety plans for individuals assigned to these programs.With the other members of the IIBHT team, assist in scheduling & collectively providing at least 2-4 hours of services per week, per assigned youth/family; sessions provided among the entire IIBHT team.With the other members of the Wraparound team, assist in scheduling & collectively providing at least 2-4 hours of services per month, per assigned youth/family, including a monthly family Wrapround meeting; sessions provided among the entire Wraparound team.Maintain a strength-based approach in working with families, community partners, team members & staff.Serve as a crisis responder for clients during working hours, responding immediately for on-site crisis stabilization as necessary & virtually by telecommunication when indicated.DocumentationEnsure client confidentiality is maintained and adheres to all ethical and professional standards.Complete all documentation to agency standards and within parameters set by the Oregon Administrative Rules.All CBH Staff are Mandatory Abuse Reporters per the State of Oregon, as such all staff must be aware of and follow Mandatory Abuse Reporting Policies.Provide clinical care coordination & utilization review documentation, when required.Secondary Job FunctionsManage expenditures of flexible funds.Provide data collection and outcome monitoring, as indicatedConsult with mental health consultants & supervisor when clinical challenges arise.If the IIBHT and/or Wraparound census is low this peer support specialist may be assigned to provide services for other youth & families.Other duties as assigned.Education/Experience Requirements:Registered Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) through MHACBO or ability to register within 30 days of hire.Qualifications for QMHA certification include a bachelors degree in behavioral sciences field, or a combination of at least three years’ relevant work, education, training or experience.Peer Support Specialist (PSS) certification through Oregon Health Authority.Relevant lived experience as an individual receiving behavioral health services and a willingness to share your relevant lived experiences with clients, when appropriate, to support their treatment goals1-2 years prior experience working with families & children.Working knowledge of developmental disabilities & mental health issues facing clients.Knowledge of human behavior of individuals diagnosed with a serious mental illness and addiction issues.Skilled at working as a member of an interdisciplinary team and completing required documentation.Excellent oral & written communication skills.Strong attention to detail, highly organized and ability to multitask from anywhere in the service region.Required to have & maintain an Oregon or Washington Driver's license and meet the agency's insurance carrier's insurance standards at the time of hire, motor vehicle record report required.Ability to learn & adopt the policies and procedures of the agency.Flexibility to travel throughout community and work at off-site locations including homes, schools, non-profit partner agencies, etc.Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) and importance of maintaining confidentiality.Must be able to pass a criminal background check.Knowledge or ability to learn about Medicaid, Oregon Health Authority (OHA), and related State & Federal health care regulations to include Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs) & statutes.Preferred:BilingualBachelor's degree in a behavioral sciences fieldExperience working with community agencies such as Juvenile Justice, Department of Human Services, Court Appointed Special Advocates and school staff to collaborate on client services.Skilled at remaining calm in stressful situations and de-escalating potential aggression from clients.Skilled at leading and facilitating groups.Experience with electronic health recordkeeping and protocols for assessing health information.The above statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills.CBH offers an exceptional BENEFIT package.For full time employees, benefits include: Medical (minimal premium cost to employee), Dental (Employer Paid), Vision (employer paid), 403(b) Retirement (fully vested 5% employer contribution after 1 year of employment), Life Insurance (Employer Paid), Short-term Disability (Employer Paid), and Employee Assistance Program.
