Job description

Lawrence Chapel UMC, a well-established, forward-focused United Methodist Church in Central, SC, (near Clemson and Six Mile Communities) is looking for a part-time Youth Ministry Director.

This person would work in partnership with our Senior Pastor and our Youth Team of Volunteers to oversee Ministry that meets the spiritual needs of youth (6th-12th grades).

The Youth Ministry Director would work about 15 hours per week while overseeing weekly programming (Sunday Mornings and Sunday afternoon/evening) and special events and building relationships with youth outside of the church walls.

The position also calls for planning and attending two retreats per year, as well as (at least) one Mission trip (Summer, Salkehatchie, etc.) per year.

The ideal candidate would exhibit gifts of shepherding and teaching along with a strong calling for working with youth. S/he should have experience and maturity in youth ministry. An associate’s degree, two years into a bachelor’s degree, or college graduate is preferred. Strengths in interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills are also preferred.
