Job summary

Boys Town in the United States seeks an Assistant Family Teacher to provide direct care to at‑risk youth in a supportive, family‑style home. You will teach life skills, model positive behavior, and support each child’s moral, educational, and emotional development.

Qualifications

• 21 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Overview

Are you passionate about helping youth succeed? As an Assistant Family Teacher, you’ll provide direct care to at-risk children in a supportive, family‑style home. You’ll teach life skills, model positive behavior, and support each child’s moral, educational, and emotional development.

Compensation & Hours

Starting Pay: $19–$20.00 per hour
Full‑Time Shifts: 2:00PM – 10:00PM, rotating two weekends; requires at least one overnight stay per month (Friday 2PM – Sunday 10PM) and occasional daytime meetings.

Physical & Safety Requirements

• Lift up to 50lbs and safely transport youth.
• Perform household tasks and respond to physical/emotional needs.
• Handle behavioral challenges and safety protocols.
• Push and pull at least 80lbs of force; reach overhead, bend, and squat with ease.
• Perform tasks such as moving furniture, climbing stairs, cooking, playing games, maintaining grounds, and safely transporting youth in all weather or time conditions.
