Job summary

YMCA of the Pikes Peak region is hiring a Learn & Play Associate to support youth programs, plan weekly activities and supervise children in a safe, engaging environment. You will run small and large group activities, lead by example, and ensure proper safety practices and equipment care.

This role emphasizes play-based learning and positive instruction. You will communicate with staff, parents and children, assist with snacks or meals, and stay flexible for occasional extended hours or

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16 years.
• Experience with children leading recreational activities preferred.
• Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, plan and implement a weekly curriculum.
• Supervise and participate with participants during all large and small group activities.
• Provide age-appropriate discipline and maintain a respectful environment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of safety and emergency procedures and exercise sound judgment.
• Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and children.
• Primary responder for accidents and incidents; supervise locker rooms and swim with children.
• Complete attendance, observation, and incident reports; assist with snack or meals as assigned.
