Job summary

Residential Services, Inc. (RSI) is hiring a full-time Independent Living Skills Worker (IHSW) for our In-Home Youth, Families, & Respite program in Duluth, MN.

You will help youth with disabilities and mental illness live more independent lives, working 6:00am-8:30pm with every-other weekend and possible overnight shifts. The role emphasizes skill training, collaboration with the support team, and a commitment to person-centered goals, health and safety, and community participation.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license with no restrictions and a working vehicle.
• Two-year degree in behavioral science or related field preferred OR one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Pass post-offer background check and Motor Vehicle Report check.

Responsibilities

• Assist youth and young adults in private home settings to achieve independence.
• Provide skill training and supports for daily living activities.
• Collaborate with the person and support team to implement supports plans for independence.
• Support in physical and personal needs, communication, and household tasks.
• Promote community living, mobility, and socialization, including vocational and educational goals.

Residential Services, Inc. (RSI) is hiring a full-time Independent Living Skills Worker (IHSW) for our In-Home Youth, Families, & Respite program in Duluth,MN. As an IHSW, you will help people with disabilities and mental illness live their best, most independent lives. If you are compassionate, warm-hearted, and reliable with a passion for advocating for others.

Hours for this position fall between 6:00am-8:30pm. Every-other weekend is required, which could include asleep overnight shifts between 10:00pm-7:00am.

Salary: $20.25-$21.25 per hour, reduced rate for asleep overnight hours

What you'll do as an Independent Living Skills Worker:

As an IHS Worker, you will serve youth and young adults living in private home settings. You will help individuals achieve their maximum level of independence by providing skill training and supports needed to perform everyday tasks. You will work collaboratively with the person and their support team to implement supports plans that will help them achieve independence in a variety of skill areas including:

• Physical and personal needs
• Communication
• Household management
• Community living/mobility
• Reduction/elimination of maladaptive behavior
• Sensory/motor development
• Socialization
• Vocational and educational
• Health and wellness

For this position, you will need:
