Job summary

Nittany Valley Sports Centre is seeking a Youth Flag Football Coach/Referee to guide participants through fundamentals, game play, and sportsmanship in our leagues. You will create engaging lessons, monitor progress, and ensure safety and fair opportunities for all players.

At minimum, some high school education is required, with football experience preferred. Strong English communication is essential for interacting with players and their families.

Qualifications

• High school education required or equivalent.
• 2 years of previous experience in football or youth coaching preferred.
• Ability to read and communicate clearly in English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and respectful learning environment by employing patience and support to individuals while enforcing facility and program rules.
• Instruct and lead skill development or game play sessions for all participants, focusing on fundamentals, game strategies, and sportsmanship.
• Prepare and execute engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans that cater to the skill level of participants within the structure of the program offered.
• Monitor and assess individual player progress, provide constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
• Manage in-game activity to provide equal opportunity for skills advancement for all participants.
• Communicate clearly with participants and parents regarding progress, concerns and program updates.
• Ensure that all equipment used in the program is in good working order, used properly, and returned to proper storage following each use in the program.
• Additional tasks as assigned by supervising director.

General Function
