Zusammenfassung

The Peer Specialist at S:US engages participants in peer-based services to identify and overcome barriers to community integration, using a peer relationship to foster connection, trust, understanding and validation with community providers and supports.

Responsibilities include outreach, relationship building, advocacy, co-creating wellness tools, and active collaboration with the team to promote recovery-oriented language and youth-friendly care.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of participation in mental health self-help or peer programs.
• New York State Certified Peer Specialist preferred.
• Ability to disclose recovery story when appropriate for empowerment.

Aufgaben

• Outreach and engagement with participants and families to promote awareness of S:US services.
• Develop authentic relationships through empathy and active listening.
• Advocate for program participants within the community and the team.
• Co-create wellness tools and support participants in building life skills.
• Maintain open team communication and document visits as required.
