Job summary

The Y in Central Maryland is hiring a Youth Specialist for our Before & After School Enrichment program to engage school-aged children with enriching activities while ensuring their safety. You will facilitate activities, support well-being, and collaborate with staff and families to provide a caring, safe environment from 7am to 6pm, across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• An interest in the well-being of school age children, enthusiasm, patience, good humor, good judgment and a good spirit.
• The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, school administration and other Y associates.
• The ability to be flexible and work at multiple locations.
• The ability to work between the hours of 7am – 6pm.
• The ability to work up to morning or afternoon shifts.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate enrichment activities for school-aged children.
• Help maintain health and welfare of all children at all times.
• Contribute to the Y movement by providing enriching activities and ensuring safety for children while parents work.
