Job summary

State of Missouri is seeking an Education Specialist to develop curriculum and lesson plans for youth in day treatment and residential programs. The role involves delivering elementary or secondary education, planning content, and coordinating with a teaching team to meet client needs.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a valid teaching certificate (or ability to obtain one) and may involve special education certification.

Qualifications

• Plan class work and develop learning materials.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate Individual Education Plans.
• Adhere to state and federal testing guidelines.
• Maintain scholastic and attendance records.
• Administer and score pre/post tests.
• Provide Awareness Supervision for youth safety, conduct, care, education and therapy.
• Maintain security during emergencies or altercations and assist in restraints when needed.
• Dispense medications to youth.

Responsibilities

• Implement group and individual education plans. Plan class work and prepare learning materials.
• Function as part of a teaching team and assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating IEPs. Confer with parents and/or students.
• Adhere to State and Federal testing guidelines and mandates.
• Prepare reports regarding client adjustment and progress and maintain records.
• Administer and score pre/post tests and track outcomes.
• Provide Awareness Supervision to ensure safety and proper conduct of youth.
• Transport and escort youth in daily and emergency situations.
