Job summary

Castle Country Youth Center seeks a JJYS Lead Youth Development Specialist/Control Supervisor to oversee 24-hour unit operations and supervise staff in Price, Utah. The role focuses on youth supervision, safety, and program integrity, with responsibilities across counseling, reporting, and staff development.

The candidate should have substantial experience with at-risk youth, a Utah driver’s license, and a track record in crisis intervention and program leadership.

Qualifications

• Six years of paid work experience with troubled or at-risk youth
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Valid Utah Driver’s License
• Qualifying work experience includes JJYS facilities or related youth programs

Responsibilities

• Oversees residents in a 24-hour facility and ensures safety of youth and staff
• Supervises JJYS Technicians; trains, schedules, hires and evaluates staff
• Mentors youth in group settings and helps develop positive plans and goals
• Provides counseling to youth individually and in groups about rules and guidelines
• Applies security, safety, and control intervention techniques as needed
• Writes court reports, parole summaries, treatment plans and supervision standards
• Leads or supervises staff and participates in performance evaluations and discipline
