Job summary

The Boys & Girls Club of the Tri-County Area is seeking qualified Youth Development Staff to plan and implement diverse programs for youth in the community at the Berlin site. Responsibilities include planning, supervising, and evaluating activities across education, technology, arts and crafts, physical education/sports, and health & wellness. Position title: Area Director.

Location: Berlin. Wage: $12-$14 per hour. Shifts: School Year 3:00-8:00pm, Summer 7:00am-5:30pm, 15-25 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Juniors & Seniors (16+ years) eligible to apply.
• Experience working with children.
• Knowledge of youth development strategies.
• Proven ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to role model healthy lifestyle and promote wellness.
• Proven ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
• Be certified in CPR/First Aid (will train).
• Valid driver’s license and good driving history.
• Must pass a drug test and background check prior to employment.

• Effectively implement and administer programs, services, and activities as assigned, for drop-in members and visitors.
• Monitor and evaluate programs, services, and activities to ensure safety, quality, and cleanliness.
• Prepare periodic activity and outcome measurement reports.
• May participate in special programs and events outside of typical work hours.
• Ensure program areas are clean and organized to promote a safe and engaging environment for all participants.
• Serve as a Mandated Child Abuse Reporter.

• Must be able to work in a variety of environments, including outdoor activities, and possible trip assignments.
