Job summary

Child Care Resources Inc is seeking a Youth Development Professional for the Abingdon site to engage Club members in designated program areas and support high-quality youth development programming. The role focuses on maintaining a safe, inclusive, and structured environment aligned with Club goals and participant safety.

Responsibilities include facilitating activities, guiding youth, coordinating services with the Program Director, and modeling positive values.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required; we will assist if not certified.
• Pass a Drug Screening test.

• Ensure safety, positive values, and ethical behavior through quality in programs, and the Club's appearance at all times.
• Guide members; act as a role model.
• Assist in maintaining inventories of all program equipment and supplies.
• Ensure all related supplies and equipment are maintained in good order (cleanliness and upkeep of Program Area after usage)

About This Role

Youth Development Professionals oversee and engage Club members in designated program areas, supporting the delivery of high-quality youth development programs. They are responsible for maintaining a safe, inclusive, and structured environment that aligns with Club goals and ensures the health and safety of all participants.

What You'll Do

Ensure that members actively participate in the program area and activities for which you are responsible.

Encourage members to seek advice and guidance from staff regarding problems.

Ensure that children receive caring supervision, respect, and recognition for their efforts.

Assist Site Coordinators in organizing and implementing a range of program services and activities for enrolled members and visitors that are fun, instructional, and competitive, and that incorporate team-building skills.

Initiate new programs with the approval of the Program Director; make recommendations concerning programs.

Ensure safety, positive values, and ethical behavior through quality in programs, and the Club's appearance at all times.

Guide members; act as a role model.

Assist in maintaining inventories of all program equipment and supplies.

Ensure all related supplies and equipment are maintained in good order (cleanliness and upkeep of Program Area after usage)

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old

High School diploma or GED.

Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications. We will assist in getting these certifications if not already certified.

Pass a Drug Screening test.

Demonstrate creative, organizational, and project management abilities.

Ability to deal effectively with members, including disciplinary issues.

Demonstrated ability in relationship building and working with young people and parents.

Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.

Ability to deal with the general public.

Minimum Education : High School or Equivalent
