Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a part-time staff member to assist in planning and leading youth center activities. This role supports program outcomes and collaborates with officers to provide an engaging, Christ-centered environment for youth development.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of experience with children/youth preferred, and First Aid/CPR certification or the ability to obtain it. A valid WV driver’s license is preferred.

Schedule: Part-time (25 hours Weekly)This position is responsible for:Assisting program leaders in planning and leading center members and activities within a specific program area, supporting the program's priority outcomes. May assist in special programs and/or events and/or participate in the implementation of other activities as necessary.Participate in the Salvation Army’s ministry advancement by collaborating with the Salvation Army Officers to ensure Red Shield Youth Centers provide an engaging, enriching, and empowering environment where youth develop Christ-like character, preparing them to become tomorrow’s leaders.Key Responsibilities:May participate in special programs and/or events.Assist in the conservation of all Salvation Army resources.Abide by and enforce all Salvation Army policies and procedures.Be willing to assist in any way asked to fulfill the mission of The Salvation Army.Assist in maintaining facility and equipment in good working order. Assist in maintaining all storage areas, keeping them orderly and clean. Report all repairs, maintenance, and janitorial needs to the supervisor.Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes,Effectively implement and administer programs, services, and activities for Club members.Monitor and evaluate programs, services, and activities to ensure the safety of members, quality of programs, and appearance of the branch at all times.
