Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley in the Halls Powell location is seeking a Part-Time Youth Development Associate. You will lead hands-on activities, plan weekly lessons, and help youth participate and learn in a safe, welcoming environment.

You will supervise activities, provide meals per USDA standards, orient volunteers, and support staff in meetings and events. A high school diploma or GED and a background check are required.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations.
• Ability to collaborate with staff, directors, youth and the community.
• Able to meet the needs of youth of all ages and backgrounds and adapt plans.
• Must pass background checks and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Post weekly plans for parents/guardians and youth.
• Encourage full participation in activities.
• Identify alternative activities to promote participation.
• Supervise program areas to ensure safety of members.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Club.
• Provide meals to youth per USDA standards.
• Orient volunteers to the Club and service opportunities.
• Oversee volunteers and assist with field trips and events.
