Job summary

Together for Youth is seeking a Non-Secure Detention Counselor to supervise youth in a short-term residential setting, ensuring safety and structured activities. The role emphasizes modeling positive behavior, individual and group counseling, and collaboration with leadership to support the facility’s mission.

The position requires high school or GED, 1+ year experience with at-risk youth, and readiness to complete on-the-job TCI and First Aid/CPR training.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required; 1+ year experience working with youth/families preferred.
• Associates degree can substitute for experience in Human Services or related field.
• Certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and First Aid/CPR training preferred after onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Account for welfare and well-being of youth at all times.
• Model appropriate behavior standards and maintain visual sight of youth.
• Counsel youth individually and in groups to assist adjustment to the program.
• Ensure participation in program schedules and daily activities.
• Assist with meal preparation and with security and safety of youth and facility.
