Job summary

Middlesex County is hiring a Youth Worker to support youth in county programs, guiding growth and safe community adjustment. You will supervise daily activities, promote positive behavior, document observations, and help implement individualized goals and program expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, or related field.
• Master's degree may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Organize, supervise, and facilitate structured activities for youth with behavioral, emotional, and adjustment challenges.
• Participate in staff meetings and collaborate to develop individualized and group-based programs.
• Monitor, observe, and document behavior, progress, and responses to planned activities and interventions.
• Prepare accurate and timely reports documenting observations, incidents, progress, and other relevant information.
• Implement individualized plans and programs to support positive behavioral change, social development, and emotional well-being.
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address emotional, behavioral, interpersonal, and adjustment-related concerns.
• Promote accountability, self-awareness, and responsible decision-making among youth.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with juveniles while providing supervision and behavioral support.
• Communicate with parents, schools, and community agencies to coordinate services.
• Maintain confidential records and use information-management systems to document activities and case information.
• Perform related duties to support program operations and youth safety.

Education
