Job summary

Nexus Family Healing in Mendota Heights, MN, is seeking temporary relief Youth Care Professionals to support teens in a safe, respite setting at Aspen House.

You will mentor clients, supervise daily activities, help implement treatment plans, and collaborate with staff to maintain a respectful, diverse, and trauma-informed environment.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, willingness to work 2 shifts per month or more, and compliance with safety and background checks.

Qualifications

• Must have High School diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Driver’s License - must meet state requirements.
• Ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals.
• Open to meeting the cultural needs of individuals and communities.
• Must pass a DHS background check.
• Experience with youth in a residential or shelter setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and supervise client daily activities and behavior per guidelines.
• Collaborate with coworkers to implement treatment plans and services.
• Demonstrate respect for diversity in all interactions and care.
• Ensure client safety and maintain a positive, clean, therapeutic environment.
• Plan and participate in client activities and engagement efforts.
• Respect boundaries and adapt interactions to each client’s phase and needs.
• Follow safety policies for living areas, campus, and off-site activities.
• Engage families/support networks to reinforce positive partnerships.
