The role requires crisis management, CPI technique application, and strong boundaries, with shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays and mandatory reporting obligations.

Qualifications

• Stay calm and professional during crisis situations.
• Apply Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) techniques appropriately.
• Maintain firm and appropriate boundaries.
• Make safe decisions even when no one is watching.
• Accept feedback and follow directions from supervisors.
• Work assigned shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide youth throughout daily activities
• Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment
• Implement individualized treatment plans with consistency
• Model appropriate communication, behavior, and conflict resolution
• Monitor surroundings and intervene when necessary
• Review logs at the start of each shift
• Complete all documentation accurately before the end of shift
• Participate fully in required trainings and meetings
• Serve as a mandated reporter under Michigan Child Protection Law
