Job summary

Georgia Sheriffs Youth Homes in LaGrange, GA seeks a Social Service Coordinator to coordinate care for residents in the Child Care department. The role requires a bachelor’s in a related field and may include a master’s degree or progress toward one, plus experience in child care.

The position reports to the Resident Director and involves liaison work with DJJ/DFACS, care planning, and program coordination to support residents’ well-being and education.

Qualifications

• A bachelors degree in social work, psychology, childhood education, educational counseling and psychology, or related field.
• Two years of experience in child care or supervision by a Human Services Professional with a masters degree.
• Masters degree in one of the above disciplines is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between Youth Homes and agencies ensuring court appearances and reviews.
• Receive referrals, screen applications for placement and coordinate services.
• Be informed of child care programs in the community and across the state.
• Arrange and supervise off-campus visits and review Individual Care Plans.
• Maintain communication with Houseparents and inform Resident Director of pertinent information.
• Assist in coordinating staff training and monitor residents health care needs.
